What Orgonomy Is
Orgonomy is a science.
It studies the primordial, pre-atomic cosmic energy that is omnipresent in the universe, from which everything living derives, as well as its physical, biological, social, and psychic manifestations, discovered by the Austrian physician Wilhelm Reich (1897–1957).
The name comes from Reich, who derived it from the words “orgasm” and “organism.” In fact, his studies on orgasm led him to the discovery of orgone energy.
Unlike classical science, which considers the atom as the basic building block of nature, Orgonomy considers it the product of superimposition, meaning the union of two or more energy streams.
Orgone energy differs from all other known energies, which derive from matter and are therefore defined as secondary energies: electrical, magnetic, nuclear, etc.
Classical science recognizes only these latter forms of energy and considers the atom as the fundamental constituent of nature, whereas Orgonomy already regards it as the product of a specific function of primordial energy—namely superimposition, where two or more energy currents unite and from which matter is generated.

Pulsation
A second fundamental function of orgone energy is pulsation. Easily observable in living organisms (cardiac pulsation, breathing movements, etc.), it is also present at all levels of nature: cosmic and atmospheric. The Earth itself pulsates.

Orgastic Convulsion
Specific to living organisms is the third function of orgone energy: orgastic convulsion.
Excess energy accumulated by the organism—through food intake, fluids, breathing, and direct absorption of cosmic energy—and not fully used for its normal functioning, concentrates in the genitals.
When the accumulated tension exceeds a certain threshold, the genitals become energetically charged, which is perceived as sexual excitation (in orgonomic terms, the organism has reached the point of lumination).
The function of orgasm, Reich’s first and most important discovery, is to fully discharge this excess energy, and this occurs through orgastic convulsion.
Only through this act is the unified pulsation of the organism achieved, along with the natural regulation of all bio-psycho-emotional functions.

Orgonomy and Life
Considering that every manifestation of existence ultimately derives from energetic processes, the science of Orgonomy is not foreign to anything that exists.
Orgonomy can be divided into four main branches: physics, biology, medicine, and sociology, each of which contributes to humanity’s ongoing attempt to understand itself and the nature from which it emerges and of which it is part.
We also recall the aspects that unmistakably distinguish and characterize the science of Orgonomy:
- Orgone energy
- Superimposition
- Pulsation
- The orgasm function
- Functional thinking
